Is American College of Education Ncate accredited?

Accreditation is an important part of the process of preparing teachers and other school professionals. It helps to ensure that you’re getting the education you need to make a difference in a child’s life.

The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) is the overarching accreditor for schools of education. Its mission is to improve student learning by focusing on standards of excellence in teacher preparation.

Accreditation

The accreditation process is a lengthy and rigorous process in which established professionals in a field review an institution of higher education to make sure it meets quality standards that are thoroughly grounded in research. Accreditation ensures that American College of Education Ncate provides graduates with training in a rigorous program with nationally recognized standards.

The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) is the professional quality control mechanism for teacher education and is the accrediting body for schools, colleges, and departments of education authorized by the U.S. Department of Education to prepare teachers and other school specialists for the classroom.

NCATE’s standards are developed through a consensus of education leaders and reflect recent developments in teaching practices and advances in research. NCATE’s standards are performance-based and focus on improving teaching by incorporating evidence-based measurement tools into the teacher preparation process.

Tuition

According to the College's website, tuition & fees for the academic year 2020-2021 was $6,240 for undergraduates. This figure does not include room and board, which may increase the total cost of attendance.

ACE offers multiple educator preparation programs. Some of these are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and others are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

The College's educator preparation programs are designed to help students develop skills needed to meet the needs of diverse children. These programs are based on effective pedagogical theory, assessment methodology, and legal, regulatory, and educational standards.

Degrees

The college offers a wide variety of degrees and certificates that can help you prepare for a career in education. Degrees range from a bachelor’s to a master’s and can be completed online or on campus.

The American College of Education Ncate is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and several programs are also recognized by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC). Graduates of these programs may be eligible for initial teacher licensure in certain states.

The university offers a graduate degree in elementary education online that is designed for current educators with a valid teaching license. The degree includes courses that focus on effective pedagogical theory and assessment methodology. It can be earned in a short amount of time and is completely online.
